Sparks parties
Sparks Parties are woodland birthday party experiences for children aged 2 –12, run by Fire and Fell. Led by a qualified teacher and Level 3 Forest School practitioner with ten years' experience, every party aims to be fun, safe and genuinely special.

Sparks Parties aim to give children something different — space to roam, skills to try, and adventures to share. Activities are hands-on and child-led, and might include:

Den building and woodland exploration
Nature crafts and wild art
Mud kitchen, hammocks and swings
Bug hunting and minibeast identification
Outdoor games led by Kate
Toasting marshmallows on the campfire at the end

Parties run for 2.5 hours and are suitable for groups of up to 15 children. We run in all weathers — because the best parties happen outdoors!
All sessions are fully risk assessed and Fire and Fell holds full public liability insurance, so you can relax and enjoy the party alongside your child.

Sparks Parties are pop-up woodland birthday parties, held in a selection of woodland locations across North Cumbria. Contact us to find out which location suits you best.

Forest School Birthday Parties
Up to 15 children, 2.5 hours in the woodland. Rooted in the principles of forest school, the session is child-led — children are free to follow their own interests and explore at their own pace. Every party includes den building, nature crafts and a campfire with marshmallow toasting to finish. Much needed refreshments (tea and coffee, biscuits) are also provided for parents.
Optional Party Theme:
1. Woodland Fairies & Enchanted Forest
A magical adventure for little ones — potion brewing, wand crafting and enchanted storytelling deep in the woods.
2. Pirates & Treasure
X marks the spot. A hidden treasure hunt and den building on the high seas of the woodland.
3. Dragons & Wizards
Forage for spell ingredients, brew mysterious potions and hunt for dragon eggs.
4. Wild Explorers
For the naturally curious — natural art, minibeast safaris and den building.
5. Survival Adventure
For older adventurers — shelter building, learning different knots and fire lighting using flint and steel. Best suited to ages 8–12.

Booking & Payment
A £100 deposit is required at the time of booking, taken securely through Eequ. The remaining balance is due prior to your party date.
To ensure every child has a safe and enjoyable experience, we ask that parents organise appropriate adult supervision among the party group. A minimum ratio of 1 adult to 5 children is required — this is a condition of booking and does not include Fire and Fellside staff.
Once your booking is confirmed, we'll send a short form for the booking (lead) parents/guardians to complete and share with attending families. The lead parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring Fire and Fellside is informed of any dietary requirements or medical conditions prior to the party, and for holding emergency contact details for all children in their care on the day.
